Google’s Annual IO Conference Scheduled for May 20-21, 2025

Google has announced its annual developer conference, scheduled for May 20-21, 2025, at Mountain View’s Shoreline Amphitheater, close to its headquarters. This two-day event will feature a mix of content for both the public and developers. CEO Sundar Pichai will open the conference with a keynote speech on the morning of May 20, followed by breakout sessions tailored for developers.

Last year’s event heavily featured news about Gemini, Google’s generative AI platform and this year is expected to continue that trend, highlighting advancements in AI amidst growing competition from firms like OpenAI and DeepSeek

For those eager for insights before the conference, the I/O 2025 website is already live, showcasing developer content from previous years, including projects like Gemma, Google AI Studio, and NotebookLM.

The conference marks the beginning of a busy season for developers, which will kick off with Nvidia’s GTC from March 17-21 and culminate in Apple’s WWDC in June. Additionally, Google will contend with Microsoft Build, taking place right before I/O, from May 19-22 in Seattle.

This year’s I/O promises to be an essential event for developers and technology enthusiasts, as it will not only showcase Google’s latest innovations but also address the increasing competition in the AI field.

With a focus on emerging technologies, the conference highlights the ever-evolving landscape of software development. Participants can expect valuable insights, networking opportunities, and a chance to engage with some of the leading minds in technology. Whether you are a developer or an AI enthusiast, the I/O 2025 event is an opportunity not to be missed.
