Google has introduced a new artificial intelligence feature that allows users to virtually try on clothes using their own photos. The tool, now available in the United States, lets shoppers upload a full-length image of themselves and see how an outfit would look on their body. Accessible through Google Search, Shopping, and product results in Google Images, the feature enables users to save and share their virtual looks with others.
Unlike Google’s earlier virtual try-on tools, which showed items on different model body types, this update uses generative AI to create a personalized experience for each shopper. It comes two months after initial testing and follows the launch of Doppl, Google’s experimental app designed to help users curate personal styles and even generate AI-powered outfit videos for a realistic view of clothing.
In addition to the try-on tool, Google is updating its price alert feature. Shoppers can now set alerts for specific product sizes, colors, and price points, receiving notifications when an item matches their desired criteria. This enhancement aims to make price tracking easier and more personalized.
Google also teased a new feature arriving this fall that uses generative imagery to provide outfit ideas and interior design inspiration. Shoppers will be able to explore visual options for specific themes, such as a garden party look or bedroom décor ideas, with results tied to the company’s vast Shopping Graph of over 50 billion products.
With these updates, Google is further expanding its AI-driven shopping experience, blending personalization with convenience to help users make more informed buying decisions online.
