Arc Browser is a free web browser developed by The Browser Company, aiming to serve as an operating system for the web.
It integrates standard browsing with built-in applications and features, such as a virtual notebook and “boosts,” allowing users to cosmetically redesign websites. Unlike most browsers, Arc uses vertical tabs housed in a sidebar containing all browser functionalities except the viewing window. Built on Chromium and written in Swift, Arc supports Chrome extensions and uses Google Search by default.
In February 2024, Arc introduced AI-powered features to enhance user experience.
The “Instant Links” feature enables users to open multiple links instantly by searching with AI, bypassing traditional search engines. Additionally, Arc Search, a new iOS app, offers a “Browse for Me” feature that reads webpages related to user queries and creates new pages with summaries and embedded content. These innovations position Arc as a forward-thinking browser, integrating AI to streamline web interactions.
