Browser Use, a startup focused on improving AI “agents” navigation of websites, has secured $17 million in seed funding. The round, led by Felicis’ Astasia Myers and backed by investors like Paul Graham, A Capital, and Nexus Venture Partners, is a significant step for the company, which recently gained attention thanks to its role in the success of Butterfly Effect’s Manus tool.
Founded by Magnus Müller and Gregor Zunic in 2024, Browser Use emerged from ETH Zurich’s Student Project House accelerator. With Müller’s experience in web scraping and Zunic’s expertise in data science, they developed a tool to make websites more accessible and understandable for AI agents. Their solution simplifies the structure of websites, transforming complex elements into a “text-like” format that AI agents can interpret and interact with more effectively, thus reducing errors and costs when performing repetitive tasks.
Browser Use has become increasingly popular, especially among AI companies seeking smoother website interaction for their agents. The platform is now a key tool for more than 20 companies in the Y Combinator Winter 2025 batch. The team believes their technology can be a foundational layer in the growing AI agents space.
Felicis’s Astasia Myers highlighted the startup’s open-source approach and the growing need for AI agents that can work seamlessly across the web. She noted that web AI agents are an important next step in automating human tasks in the rapidly changing digital landscape, positioning Browser Use to be a significant player in the future of web automation.
