Foxconn and NVIDIA have announced a major partnership with the Taiwanese government to build an advanced AI factory supercomputer aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence development across industries. The initiative, revealed during COMPUTEX on May 18, 2025, marks a strategic effort to boost Taiwan’s AI capabilities by integrating NVIDIA’s powerful Blackwell infrastructure with Foxconn’s technological foundation. The project will be delivered through Foxconn’s Big Innovation Company, which will operate as an NVIDIA Cloud Partner.
The AI factory will feature 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, significantly increasing computing capacity for local startups, researchers, and major institutions. Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council will use this system to support a national AI ecosystem and foster the everyday use of AI tools. Key collaborators include TSMC, whose researchers will utilize the supercomputer to dramatically improve R&D performance in semiconductor innovation.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the potential of AI to spark a new industrial revolution and expressed excitement about supporting Taiwanese industries. Foxconn Chairman Young Liu highlighted the company’s mission to build the infrastructure that will drive Taiwan’s next wave of technological progress. TSMC CEO Dr. C.C. Wei underscored the importance of advanced AI systems in accelerating breakthroughs in chip design and manufacturing.
Minister Wu Cheng-Wen of the National Science and Technology Council said the broader goal is to develop an AI-centered industrial ecosystem in southern Taiwan, laying the foundation for smart cities and a “smart AI island.” The new AI factory will also contribute to NVIDIA’s DGX Cloud Lepton marketplace, offering scalable AI access to various enterprises through the Inception program and Deep Learning Institute.
Foxconn plans to use the AI factory to enhance automation and efficiency in its core areas: smart cities, electric vehicles, and manufacturing. From optimizing traffic systems to supporting safer vehicles and streamlining production processes, this collaboration positions Taiwan as a leader in global AI development.
