Google’s NotebookLM Introduces Public Sharing for Interactive AI Notebooks

Google’s AI-powered note-taking app, NotebookLM, now offers a new feature that allows users to share their notebooks with anyone through a public link. While viewers cannot edit the content, they can engage with AI-driven features, such as asking questions, listening to audio summaries, briefings, and FAQs generated by the AI.

This update makes it easier for students, colleagues, or classmates to access and explore information collaboratively. The sharing process is familiar to Google users, similar to sharing documents in Google Drive, where users click the Share button, set the access to “Anyone with a link,” copy the link, and distribute it easily via messaging or social media.

Additionally, creators can share notebooks directly with specific individuals via email, granting them editing rights if desired. The app originally launched as an experimental project in 2023 and has grown popular for its ability to help users understand complex materials from notes, presentations, YouTube videos, and more by providing summaries, AI podcasts, and interactive chat features.

Google recently released a mobile version of NotebookLM, expanding its accessibility. The platform also supports sharing AI audio overviews within its Gemini app. This development underscores Google’s efforts to make AI-driven knowledge sharing more interactive and accessible, fueling collaboration and learning in various environments.

As interactive AI tools become more commonplace, NotebookLM is positioning itself as a versatile solution for educational and professional contexts, blending convenient sharing with rich, AI-enhanced content.
