Microsoft has launched a new engineering organization called CoreAI — Platform and Tools to strengthen its AI infrastructure and software development.
This move combines the company’s Dev Div, AI platform teams, and some employees from the Office of the CTO division into a single entity, ensuring AI remains a central focus across its operations.
Jay Parikh, formerly VP and global head of engineering at Meta, will lead CoreAI, reporting directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Parikh, who joined Microsoft in October after serving as CEO of cloud security startup Lacework, brings extensive experience in technical infrastructure and data center projects.
CoreAI reflects Microsoft’s strategic prioritization of AI, aligning its resources and developer teams to support “model-forward” applications that Nadella describes as pivotal for reshaping all software categories.
