Samsung has introduced its new Galaxy A56 smartphone, along with the A36 and A26, enhancing its A-series lineup with a stronger focus on artificial intelligence and minor improvements in specifications. These budget-friendly devices now feature slightly larger screens, boasting a 6.7-inch full HD Plus display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, compared to the smaller screens of their predecessors. The Galaxy A56 stands out with its upgraded Exynos 1580 chip, while the A36 utilizes the previous Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip. All three models are equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, with the A56 and A36 supporting faster 45W charging.
One of the key highlights of the Galaxy A56 is its advanced AI capabilities, branded as “awesome intelligence.” This includes new image editing features that were previously exclusive to Samsung’s higher-end S25 series. Notably, the Best Face feature allows users to swap facial expressions in motion photos, ensuring everyone looks their best, even if someone blinks. Additionally, there’s an enhanced object removal tool and various photo filters. The devices also include Google’s Circle to Search feature, enabling users to search for text and images by simply circling them on the screen.
Samsung has committed to providing up to six years of Android OS and security updates for these devices, a significant improvement over previous models. Design-wise, the new A-series phones feature an oval-shaped rear camera housing and maintain similar camera setups, including a 50MP main camera and a 12MP selfie camera. The Galaxy A56 is priced at $499 and will be available in the US later this year, while the A36 and A26 will launch on March 26th and March 28th, respectively, at prices of $399 and $299. In the UK, all three models will be available starting March 19th.
